April Fools’ Day isn’t actually an official holiday (seriously, can we make it one? Imagine a day off to play pranks on your unsuspecting pals!), but if you’re reading from Canada, the U.S., Europe, Australia, Brazil or India, you’ll most likely be able to appreciate a first-of-April joke or two. And for gamers, there are a few especially great treats that the bigwigs have set up for us to enjoy. Golly!
According to EuroGamer, here are some of the April Fools’ themed “Easter eggs” you can peruse while on a coffee or study break today:
So happy April Fools’ Day, everybody. Please try not to be that annoying dude or dudette refilling the sugar container with salt, okay? Be creative! *winky face emoji*

The mythological gaming experiences based on a novel by Slovenian author Vladimir Bartol have gone down in history as some of Ubisoft’s greatest creations. Since 2007, Assassin’s Creed and its seven sequels have been regaling us with the tales of two rivaling secret societies and their enigmatic connection to a race of pre-humans.
Now, three new toys in the fourth action-figure series based on the franchise are set to be released by McFarlane in May of next year. Five-inch versions of Eagle Vision Arno Dorian, Arno Dorian and Shay Cormac are to be anticipated. Grab them on their own or save at the checkout with our set of three, pictured below!
Sony Pictures will be releasing a movie version of Assassin’s Creed in 2016.
Though hundreds may have come before him, Ezio Auditore was perhaps the greatest Assassin to join and lead the Brotherhood. His exploits changed the world and set him on a course that spanned centuries. To honour his legacy, you can now own a new 6-inch figure of the great man as he was before the end, an accomplished veteran and an Assassin Mentor.
We love E3 and live for the new releases, the leaks, the announcements, the keynotes and everything else that goes down at the biggest video game show around. Naturally, it’s nearly impossible to cover everything, but here’s a selection of our favourite demos released yesterday. Check these out!
WATCH DOGS by Ubisoft Montreal looks so awesome that we were almost a little sad to see him pull out a gun. It’s not that we don’t like shooters, but can you imagine an urban game where strategy and environmental control was all you had? Definite yes.
THE LAST OF US is an atypical zombie game where the undead are not only just infected, but have fallen victim to a ficionalised version of cordyceps, a monstrous, brain-controlling fungus that also gruesomely rips open the heads of its hosts. Naturally, though, the real enemies are the other humans protagonists Joel and Ellie encounter while trying to make their way across America.
Aveline is the latest assassin to join the franchise in ASSASSIN’S CREED III: LIBERATION and she’s absolutely awesome. This video gives you a closer look at her arsenal.
Ezio Auditore da Firenze leaps in to avenge his murdered family in this amazing polystone statue from Sideshow and Ubisoft. Pushing off fallen Roman columns with his blade drawn, he cuts an incredibly striking figure.
The statue itself stands an impressive 14 inches tall and features all the detail and paint-work you’d expect from the wizards at Sideshow Collectibles. Fans of the game can order now and the statue will ship out in April!
