Silver Surfer Marvel Select Figure

Originally a young astronomer named Norrin Radd on the planet Zenn-La, he saved his homeworld from the planet devourer, Galactus, by serving as his herald. Imbued in return with a tiny portion of Galactus’s Power Cosmic, Radd acquired vast power, a new body and a surfboard-like craft on which he could travel faster than light. Now known as the Silver Surfer, Radd roamed the cosmos searching for planets for Galactus to consume. When his travels took him to Earth, he met the Fantastic Four, a team of powerful superheroes who helped him rediscover his humanity and nobility of spirit. Betraying Galactus, the Surfer saved Earth but was exiled there as punishment.

Silver Surfer Marvel Select Figure

A Diamond Select Release. Sculpted by Sam Greenwell. The newest Marvel Select action figure from Diamond Select is the Surfer of the Space ways himself, the Silver Surfer. Inspired by classic appearance of the cosmic character, this 7-inch figure comes with his board, as well as a dynamic display base that allows him to ride on it or pose with it. This highly requested character will be one of the fastest-selling Selects yet.

Hasbro’s 19-inch Galactus: The Dark VARIANT

Make enemies tremble at the might of your 19-inch Galactus figure! This gargantuan warrior not only looks fierce with his massive size and cosmic lights, he sounds impressive too — when you press the button, he says phrases like “Tremble at the might of the Power Cosmic!” and “I am the devourer of worlds!” It’s up to your Silver Surfer figure to try to stop this huge villain from “destroying the world”. Will he succeed? Set up the battle and find out!

You might remember our original post on Hasbro’s Giant-Size Galactus, the 19-inch Masterworks series figure joined by Silver Surfer and capturing the character in a scale that suits his sheer magnitude. Well, if you liked that one but weren’t entirely sure of the bright purple, then you might prefer this darker Galactus variant, which lends a sense of realism or perhaps modern comic grittiness with a more muted palette.

This pre-orderable figure will be shipping in October!

Hasbro’s Giant-Size GALACTUS

When I saw Marvel Select’s absurdly huge Abomination figure (so large it needed updated, reinforced packaging to contain), I thought it was just insane that they’d released a figure that big and weighty. So you can probably imagine my surprise when I saw Hasbro and Marvel shipping out with THIS:

Standing at a whopping 19 INCHES and joined by the Silver Surfer, this new figure brings Galactus in at a scale that finally gives the character his action figure due. He’s a Masterworks piece, which comes as little surprise, and though he is not yet available in stock, can be pre-ordered now and ships in October of this year!

New Polystone Marvel Comiquettes from Sideshow

We’re being spoiled for Sideshow Comiquettes! Two new ones have arrived: The X-Force Diorama and the Silver Surfer statue. Here’s a look at both!

Warpath, Wolfsbane, Wolverine, and X-23 are united in X-Force, Cable’s crack mutant team. Wearing their signature, darkly-toned outfits, they stand at the ready, prepared to face some unseen foe. The whole thing is about 14 inches tall and features a sculpted base beneath the four figures. And if that’s not enough, it also boasts a changeable Wolverine so that he can appear with or without his mask.

Next up, we’ve got Norrin Radd, the Silver Surfer. I’ve always found him a tough character to like because even at his best, he tends to give off a very dated 80s vibe that I just can’t get into. But I have to say that when he’s done well, he’s done well and this is one of those times where they’ve managed to make him look very cool. He stands a whopping 24 inches tall and boasts a few special features:
* Three switch-out heads with alternate expressions
* Two sets of switch-out arms, including one set with arms extended and one set with arms extended wielding the power cosmic
* One additional arm with fist pose
