What IS a Sing-A-Ma-Jig?

Maybe you’ve already heard about what’s sure to be the next big thing in kids’ collectible toys, but if not, here’s a look at something called.. The SING-A-MA-JIGS!

First launched at this year’s New York Toy Fair, these little plush creatures come in a variety of colours and looks that make them irresistible. Alone, a Sing-a-ma-jig is an adorable toy that opens its mouth with every belly-squeeze and breaks into a series of notes with a tweak of the left paw.

But put them together and that’s when the magic happens! From random notes sung individually, the Sing-a-ma-jigs begin to harmonize and perform together, a range of different tones and voices performing as a strange little group in something reminiscent of Animal Crossing’s Animalese. And they’re from Mattel, so you can be pretty sure that these things are going to go big, much in the way of everything the company gets behind.

So if you want to get your hands on one ore more of these adorable, harmonizing little guys, then look no further than our Sing-a-ma-jig section over at Cmdstore! We’ve got the first wave of Sing-a-ma-jigs ready and waiting to be pre-ordered

Tauren Hunter Korg Highmountain: New World of Warcraft Figure!

World of Warcraft Fan? Action Figure collector? If you answered yes to both (or just the first one and don’t mind being converted!), then we have yet another piece of good news for you with the arrival of a brand new deluxe figure.

In DC Direct’s World of Warcraft line, “deluxe” usually implied “huge!” and this new item is no exception. Check out Korg Highmountain!

Pretty big (a full 9 inches) and pretty intimidating, Korg’s design easily implies that he is built to destroy anything that stands in his way. Almost as wide as he is tall, he wields his massive weapon as though it were made of matchsticks. His expression is as vicious as the rest of him and it’s definitely a cool piece for any WoWer.

And in cuter news, 1up.com reports that you’ll soon be able to get your hands on a softer, cuddlier Warcraft collection, Blizzard’s own version of the incredibly popular Webkinz.

World of WarCraft’s pets are about to get a bit more tangible. The digital critters will soon be entering the real world via a new line of plush look-a-likes, which will come complete with a download code.

According to the World of WarCraft community site, the new line will include the Wind Rider Cub and the Gryphon Hatchling. The plush toys will come with a non-combat, account-bound pet to add to your menagerie.

The pets aren’t available yet, but both Horde and Alliance players will be able to pick them up when they hit the online store. In the meantime, there’s always Lil’ K.T. and the Pandaren Monk.

The current pets will run you $10.00. Expect the plush toys to cost a little bit more.

Pokemon: HeartGold and SoulSilver Coming Spring 2010

News from the Sync Blog at Sympatico.ca…

Pokemon HeartGold Version and Pokemon SoulSilver Version will bring players back to the picturesque Johto region, first introduced in the Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver role-playing games released for the Game Boy Color exactly 10 years ago in Japan (followed by North America and Europe in 2000 and 2001, respectively).

Little details were released, but it appears Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver will be updated versions of the decade-old Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver adventures, but with improved graphics and audio, new touchscreen features to take advantage of the Nintendo DS/DSi hardware and “a host of surprises,” promises Nintendo.

Fans of Pokemon can also expect dozens of previously released characters to make its return for a new generation of players to catch, train and battle.

With more than 193 million units sold since it debuted 13 years ago, Pokemon is one of the most successful video game franchises in history. Pokemon Platinum Version, which launched in March, has already sold more than 5.66 million copies worldwide.

And while you’re waiting for these brand new games, check out the Pokemon merch we’ve got over at our online store. We’ve got plush toys and mini-figures, plus full size deluxe and battle packs! Not to mention cartridges and randomly-selected figure options. You can take a look by clicking the logo below!

Club Penguin…and Club Manchot?

There’s more news from the World of Club Penguin! But first, here’s a quick recap of our previous posts on the topic…
What is Club Penguin?
Brand New Club Penguin Toys and Cards!
The Club Penguin Secret Agent Handbook

Club Penguin, it should be mentioned, is a Canadian creation. Maybe it’s our love for the snow, or maybe it’s just a fun-loving spirit that led to the birth of the online game, but whatever it is, Disney liked it enough to purchase the homegrown phenomenon and now it’s headed to new heights of gaming–and popularity. But one decidedly Canadian aspect of the game (besides the icy environments) is the fact that the second language catered to by the Club is French, though Portuguese was a close third. And in other news…

We’ve mentioned the Trading Card Game before, but here’s a reminder of the new way to play Club Penguin when you’re not connected. Brought to you by Disney and card-wizards Topps, they’re filled with tips, tricks and a game within themselves. And naturally, because Club Penguin is never far behind its merchandise, you can use the cards to interact and get bonuses back in the online world.

And of course, fans can grab a ton of other figures and plush toys over at our Club Penguin Action Figures and Collectibles Section in our online store. It’s a great selection and sure to please fans.
