Green Lantern Retro-Dolls: SINESTRO

Mark Strong takes on the role of Sinestro in the upcoming Green Lantern feature film and it’s some inspired casting that only seems confirmed in its awesomeness by the above trailer.

And, of course, with the coming of the highly-anticipated movie, there’s bound to be a fresh wave of new merchandise, including a great line of movie-themed action figures–not to mention some great figures based on the recent comic arc, Blackest Night.

But we’ve also got a special line that’s come out recently and it’s a throw-back to yesteryear and a glimpse into figures of a simpler time: the Retro-Action DC Heroes quasi-plush line. Check them out here or see our latest addition, the villainous Sinestro, right here:

FOR HALLOWEEN: MICHAEL MYERS X 3!

If you’re in the HALLOWEEN spirit, then perhaps you’d like to take a look at the three new Michael Myers items we’ve just gotten in-stock from the action figure and collectible masters at MEZCO.

CINEMA OF FEAR: DELUXE HALLOWEEN 2 MICHAEL MYERS

Based on Michael’s appearance in the sequel to Halloween, this deluxe 12-inch figure boasts real fabric clothing and comes with the hacking knife that the killer has made one of his signatures. Packaged in a window-box, it’s one that’s sure to please both fans of the franchise and any collectors looking to add to their horror display.

ROTO-FIGURE STYLIZED MICHAEL MYERS
There’s something to be said for adding a touch of artistic flair to even a barbaric killer and here’s the result of an artist’s eye added to the classic look of Michael Myers. With the hands of a brute and the glare of a psychopath even behind the mask, this stylized figure adds something truly different that fans will likely appreciate.

CINEMA OF FEAR PLUSH MICHAEL MYERS
Well, I don’t think Michael Myers will ever be considered ‘cute’, but this is as close as you can get. A 14-inch plush toy, Michael’s still got his bloody knife, but he remains one of the very few psycho-killers you can happily take into bed with you. You know, if you’re into that.

World’s Finest DC Heroes RETRO Plush Figures!

Based on the MEGO figures that were popular in the 1960s, DC Direct has released a line of plush and plastic figures that capture the retro spirit for a new generation: Mattel’s new World’s Greatest DC Heroes. The first wave included Superman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Sinestro and Lex Luthor and, now, a whole new series of heroes and villains has arrived!

Each one stands (or is propped up!) about 8 inches tall and they match the original style of the figures right down to the old-fashioned packaging. Here’s a look at what you can pick up, both individually or as a full Series 2 set!

Tauren Hunter Korg Highmountain: New World of Warcraft Figure!

World of Warcraft Fan? Action Figure collector? If you answered yes to both (or just the first one and don’t mind being converted!), then we have yet another piece of good news for you with the arrival of a brand new deluxe figure.

In DC Direct’s World of Warcraft line, “deluxe” usually implied “huge!” and this new item is no exception. Check out Korg Highmountain!

Pretty big (a full 9 inches) and pretty intimidating, Korg’s design easily implies that he is built to destroy anything that stands in his way. Almost as wide as he is tall, he wields his massive weapon as though it were made of matchsticks. His expression is as vicious as the rest of him and it’s definitely a cool piece for any WoWer.

And in cuter news, 1up.com reports that you’ll soon be able to get your hands on a softer, cuddlier Warcraft collection, Blizzard’s own version of the incredibly popular Webkinz.

World of WarCraft’s pets are about to get a bit more tangible. The digital critters will soon be entering the real world via a new line of plush look-a-likes, which will come complete with a download code.

According to the World of WarCraft community site, the new line will include the Wind Rider Cub and the Gryphon Hatchling. The plush toys will come with a non-combat, account-bound pet to add to your menagerie.

The pets aren’t available yet, but both Horde and Alliance players will be able to pick them up when they hit the online store. In the meantime, there’s always Lil’ K.T. and the Pandaren Monk.

The current pets will run you $10.00. Expect the plush toys to cost a little bit more.

Pokemon: HeartGold and SoulSilver Coming Spring 2010

News from the Sync Blog at Sympatico.ca…

Pokemon HeartGold Version and Pokemon SoulSilver Version will bring players back to the picturesque Johto region, first introduced in the Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver role-playing games released for the Game Boy Color exactly 10 years ago in Japan (followed by North America and Europe in 2000 and 2001, respectively).

Little details were released, but it appears Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver will be updated versions of the decade-old Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver adventures, but with improved graphics and audio, new touchscreen features to take advantage of the Nintendo DS/DSi hardware and “a host of surprises,” promises Nintendo.

Fans of Pokemon can also expect dozens of previously released characters to make its return for a new generation of players to catch, train and battle.

With more than 193 million units sold since it debuted 13 years ago, Pokemon is one of the most successful video game franchises in history. Pokemon Platinum Version, which launched in March, has already sold more than 5.66 million copies worldwide.

And while you’re waiting for these brand new games, check out the Pokemon merch we’ve got over at our online store. We’ve got plush toys and mini-figures, plus full size deluxe and battle packs!
