Equal parts ravishing and deadly, Hawkgirl is a force to be reckoned with. Shiera Sanders AKA Hawkgirl has been around since the golden pinup year of 1940, and we can’t think of a more perfect way to commemorate her and the legendary era than with this 10-inch statue.
Sculpted by Tim Miller and designed by Ant Lucia, Hawkgirl playfully blows a bubble gum bubble while holding on to her jetpack, ready to blast off. She’s perched delicately on a stand bearing her name. This statue is limited to a run of 5,200, so set your hawk-vision on it right now!
Wonder if Bettie Page would be down to jetpack into space?
The New 52’s Hawkgirl, indispensable ally of Hawkman. First incarnated as Shiera Sanders by DC in 1940, Hawkgirl is now a name that has come to refer to various physical forms of the same powerful, feminine super-force of ancient Egyptian lore. Like Hawkman, she soars through the air with the help of ingenious artificial wings. But she is a triple-whammy with her additional powers of crazy-precise vision and advanced regeneration. Essentially, Hawkman wouldn’t be Hawkman without her. Pick up this essential lady hero this fall.
Acute vision powers and above-human target aim are only a couple of this über-threat’s awesome capabilities.
Designed by the great Adam Hughes and sculpted by Jack Mathews at DC Direct, this brand new statue of the beautiful Hawkgirl is the latest addition to the beloved COVER GIRLS OF THE DC UNIVERSE collection, which celebrates some of DC’s greatest women through Hughes’ pin-up style art.
Hawkgirl, the winged warrior and partner to Hawkman, is a deadly fighter and a valuable member of the Justice League. She flies into battle wielding her signature mace, an incredible, heavy weapon that can “pulverize concrete and smash steel”.
Here are the specs: An original design by Hughes, this statue is hand-painted, cold-cast in porcelain, measures approximately 9.3″ high x 4.25″ wide x 4.25″ deep (including the base), and is packaged in a 4-color box.
Hawkgirl, Green Arrow, Deadman and Aquaman have finally arrived as the members of DC Direct’s new line. Based on the recent and hugely popular company-wide event, BRIGHTEST DAY, these 6-inch figures faithfully capture the best and most dynamic looks of these characters as they appeared on the pages of the connected comics.
You can grab these guys individually or as a set and they work great as both functional and display figures. Already planned are two more series to follow this one, where you’ll be able to snag Firestorm, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter and Mera (Series 2) and then Aqualad, Dove, Hawk and Jade (Series 3). Of course, if the wait is killing you, you can pre-order and make sure you get ’em sent your way the second they’re shipped out!
Adam Hughes might be the greatest cover artist in comics today: he has an old-fashioned pin-up style and a way of drawing women that has captured the attentions of fans the world over. From the beautiful bodies to the brilliantly-rendered, unique faces, his art has been the inspiration for a ton of great DC and Marvel collectibles and we’ve now got a brand new item to add to the list. Take a look:

“BRIGHTEST DAY is about second chances. It’s looking at twelve characters that have been resurrected and examining whether it’s a miracle or a curse. Some second chances work out… some don’t. BRIGHTEST DAY is the next step in repositioning a lot of characters in the DC Universe and pushing them to the next level.”
As Blackest Night comes to a close, are you ready for the dawn of DC’s new event, BRIGHTEST DAY?
