Threezero presents this 12-inch, 1/6 scale figure for preorder in April 2015 in homage to the chilly ethos of Dead Space 3. Imagine lifelike battle sequences re-created on wintry terrain as Isaac Clarke loads up his ammo. He comes with interchangeable fists and open hands, in addition to another hand set that lets him hold his rifle and his gun at the same time. We dig the impressive attention to detail in the paint work of this figurine — when held under light, Isaac’s snowsuit actually gives off a light emerald glow, enhancing the special weathering paint effects as well as the texture of the metallic and fabric material. LEDs on his helmet and backpack and the mechanical nuances of his equipment make him look like he just jumped out of the video game. Take Isaac Clarke right off the screen and settle him into your collection this spring.
Dead Space protagonist Isaac Clarke comes to Sideshow Collectibles as a brand new 16-inch polystone statue. Standing above a Necromorph, his pose is half powerful and half nervous, a fitting blend for a man descending into horror and madness. Featuring an amazing light-up helmet to project an eerie glow out into the dark, the statue makes a gory and yet somehow understated addition to any gamer’s display shelf. Order now and it ships out in May.
Video game fans have something else to celebrate besides the impending release of awesome new titles: action figures! DC Direct has been making some pretty impressive renderings of the best and brightest characters from all around the video game world and the latest to arrive on our shelves are four from Bioware’s DRAGON AGE. Here you’ll find, available as a set or individual figures, Duncan, Genlock, Loghain and Morrigan. Very nice to look at and very highly-detailed.
Now, you might also enjoy the very awesome Dead Space figures and, if you do, you’ll probably want to take a look at something of a crossover between the two games…
The Escapist has the info…
In a genre-bending crossover, Dead Space 2 will include a code for an exclusive Dragon Age 2 armor set.
EA has put together a DLC crossover that involves Dragon Age again, but two seemingly unrelated games. Those that purchase a copy of Dead Space 2 will also receive a code to unlock a special set of armor in Dragon Age 2.
Last year’s crossover put a code in Dragon Age that unlocked the Blood Dragon armor set in Mass Effect 2. This time, EA looks to be trying to build interest in Dragon Age 2 with gamers that might not normally take a look at an RPG.
The armor set is called Ser Isaac’s armor and is modeled after the main character of Dead Space 2, Isaac Clarke. It comes with boots, a chestplate, gauntlets, and a helmet, each with their own individual stats. It doesn’t look like the set provides anything other than a couple of rune slots, a critical damage increase, and improved defense, but it does make Hawke look like a boss. The helmet gives him the triple-tiered blue light visage that Isaac Clarke is known for, though in Dragon Age the lights are probably the result of magic rather than technology. It would have been really cool if the code could have included a crossbow with targeting lasers too, but fans such as I always want it all.
The crossover makes sense when you consider that BioWare has developed Dragon Age 2 to suit both action-RPG fans and those that want to take the tactical approach (see here), while both games are also somewhat horror oriented. As the armor appears to be mostly a cosmetic improvement, so I don’t think it’s that big of a loss if you have no interest in Dead Space 2.
Shipping in March 2011, you can get your hands on the second series of figures from the hugely popular DEAD SPACE, also known as one of the creepiest and most thoroughly harrowing video game experiences out there. A new 6-inch figure of protagonist Isaac Clarke is available, plus this:
A Necromorph, a corpse reanimated and horribly mutated by a parasitic virus, looks just as terrifying here as when it’s lunging towards you aboard a dead ship. The highly-detailed NECA figures are pre-orderable now and will be shipping in March!
And if you’re a fan of the game, you might be happy to hear that you can soon play in a whole new way! Starting January 25th, you’ll be able to explore the wreck on your iPhone or iPad! Pocket Gamer has the news!
EA’s spooky sci-fi shooter, Dead Space, will be hitting the iPhone and iPad on the same day as its big boy console release, Dead Space 2, with a recently confirmed January 25th release date.
The portable scare-fest helpfully bridges the narrative gap between the two console games, letting you know what happens between the events of the USG Ishimura “planet cracker” mining ship, and The Sprawl, a densely populated space station just off Saturn.
You don’t play as series protagonist Issac Clark though, instead slipping into the size 16 gravity boots of Vandal.
Unlike its Wii counterpart, and plenty of other high-quality console games that have made the transition to iOS, Dead Space isn’t on rails. It’s a full third person shooter, letting you roam about the space station environment at your leisure. You’ll also be gunning down necromorphs, interacting with the world through touchscreen gestures and upgrading your weapons.
We also know that EA will be making a foray into in-app purchases, as you can chuck real world dosh into the game to beef up your arsenal for the fight ahead.
Dead Space will hit iPhone, iPod touch and iPad on January 25th.
We’ve already checked out the new Halo figures in a previous post, and seen the Legend of Zelda, Gears of War and Prototype figures. But there are even more great figures on the way and we thought we’d take a look at two characters from brand-spanking new games and a new series for an old franchise! All of these can be pre-ordered now and will be shipping later on.
ISAAC: DEAD SPACE
The protagonist of the incredible Dead Space, Isaac Clarke is the latest figure from NECA’s Player Select line. One of my favourite titles in recent years, Dead Space is a survival horror epic that brings together the undead, sci-fi and a strange almost Verne-style aesthetic, which is seen here in the rusted suit of the figure. The Isaac Clarke figure ships in July!
DANTE: DANTE’S INFERNO
Already steeped in controversy (EA Games hired fake protesters to pose as Christians against the game in order to generate buzz), Dante’s inferno only launches in January of next year. But the Dante action figure from NECA can already be pre-ordered and will ship in 2009’s third quarter. He stands just over six inches and features brilliant sculpting and paintwork whose quality will hopefully be reflected in the upcoming game.
METAL GEAR SOLID: SERIES 5
Finally, for anyone who’s been missing Solid Snake and the gang, the good news has come that the fifth series of McFarlane’s Metal Gear Solid figures is now available for pre-order. Like Dante, these guys ship in 2009’s third quarter. Boss, Raiden, Crouching Snake, Tiger Camo Snake and Vamp join the rest of the figures and are a testament to the kind of quality design McFarlane has proven it is capable of.
