Easily one of the most famous episodes of the original series, the Trouble with Tribbles gets an action figure treatment sure to delight Star Trek fans as it has already delighted me. Here’s a look:
Beyond just being a great piece for your display shelf, this exclusive Diamond figure boasts sound and voice from the television show, the first Tribbles ever made for the action figure line and the variant green shirt colour. Naturally, the 6-inch Captain Kirk figure can also be removed from the chair and displayed elsewhere in the event that there are other figures demanding some time with the soothing alien life forms.
With the release of the Star Trek Reboot/Alternate Universe movie in 2009, a franchise that had seemingly lost a lot of its mainstream appeal was given a much-needed booster shot and has returned to the public consciousness–not just the minds of the Trekkers and Trekkies (oh, there’s a difference). Naturally, this new wave of interest has been followed by DVD re-releases, the formation of Star Trek communities like ONTD Star Trek, a renewed interest in the stars of the original series and beyond and, of course, toys!
We’ve just gotten new shipments of two popular items to add to our Star Trek section, so check ’em out!
The first is a two-pack featuring Klingons Lieutenant Commander Worf and Chancellor Gowron, both standing about 6 inches tall and featuring some pretty impressive likenesses by Diamond Select. The figures come with some very cool Klingon weapons and are clad in series-accurate garb, based on their appearances in Deep Space 9. Next up…
In honour of the 20th anniversary of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Captain Picard is here in action figure form by Diamond Select, accompanied by the command chair he occupied for so many seasons on the U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D. Rightfully referred to as a milestone figure, it features 16 points of articulation and is an Art Asylum sculpt.
