Korean American comic book artist Jim Lee’s work on such lauded DC Comics titles as Batman: Hush and Batman: For Tomorrow is definitely unforgettable. His name is an inevitable buzzword at North America’s biggest convention, and so if you didn’t make it out to San Diego this year, we’ve got something cool for you. After all, what better way to honor this icon than with a Comic Con exclusive?
The DC Comics Blueline Edition Batman by Jim Lee honors one artist’s legendary conception of the Dark Knight. He stands six inches tall and comes in packaging featuring drawings representing the artist’s trademark style. It’s a need-to-cop for any serious Batman or Jim Lee enthusiast.
Take it or Lee-ave it.
Lobo has been gracing the pages of DC Comics offerings as a space-bound bounty hunter since 1983. With the debut of his own comic in the 1990s, the alien anti-hero came to the forefront of comic book lovers’ consciousness. And always close by is his canine pal Dawg, and although Lobo may deny owning him when Dawg gets into messes of his own, we know that there’s the warmest and cuddliest of bonds between the two.
Next up in Sideshow’s Premium Format series is this fierce little guy, standing eight inches tall with teeth bared so you know he means business. Ride out the Dawg days of summer with this statue atop a monogrammed base, a necessity for any Lobo fan’s collection. You can even attach him to the Premium Format Lobo to solidify the unbreakable bond between an (alien) boy and his Dawg.
Snoop Dawggy Dawgg.
What would you do if you were chosen by a mystic wizard to be a rescuer for all humankind? When it happened to Billy, he stepped up to the plate and became the superhero Shazam. As he assumed the essence of he who knighted him, Billy was transformed into a being having the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles and the speed of Mercury (S.H.A.Z.A.M.).
Now, you can make this powerful figure the new focal piece of your DC-themed collection! This 10-inch Shazam statue is sculpted in intricate detail by artist Adam Ross, totally fitting for the World’s Mightiest Mortal. As part of the DC Comics Icons series, Shazam is captured according to his look in The New 52. He has been released in a limited run of only 5,200, so don’t miss out on yours.
When I started ballin’, I was young.
The most novel chapter in the J. Scott Campbell Spider-Man series for Sideshow Collectibles is this formidable 18-inch statue. The web-slinging hero’s rooftop antics come to life with this polystone creation, rendered in impressive detail to recall all the images of Spider-Man that you know and love.
Designed by acclaimed artist J. Scott Campbell, this statue is as close to the real thing as it gets! After completing work on Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson, Campbell proves that this next installment in the Spider-Man series is sheer perfection.
Part arachnid, part dude.
DC Comics fans are about to be all agape over this Poison Ivy, specially based on The New 52 series reboot! Batman’s most lovely, most venomous adversary is here in six-inch format, clad in a skintight suit of leafy green and charcoal black. She’s also set with her signature fiery mane, of course. She’s an integral part of the collection of Batman’s enemies known as the rogue gallery, and she definitely deserves a place in the spotlight.
Whether her kiss is poison or antidote, one can never know. She comes in classic window-box packaging, already set for display alongside your other DC collectibles. Or free her from her cardboard-and-plastic prison and re-create the most memorable of comic-book scenes.
That girl is poison.
Monogram has fashioned this “piggy” bank especially for Marvel fans! Check out this seven-inch Ant-Man bust, rendered in exacting detail to make him leap right off your comic-book pages. Although several characters have gone by the moniker of Ant-Man throughout the different years and storylines, he was originally the alter ego of scientist Dr. Hank Pym, who invented an innovative formula that allowed him to shrink to miniscule size.
So get ready for the new Marvel film that will debut this summer and nab a bank before they’re all gone! He’s clad in his characteristic red-and-black costume, fists balled and poised for attack.
Definitely not the kind of “ant” that buys you ill-fitting sweaters for your birthday every year.
Fewer things inspire such a hallowed combination of anticipation, excitement and devotion in the hearts of geeks everywhere than convention season. Costumes are prepared, cameras are pulled out and inventories of personal toy stashes are taken in preparation for what could be called a spiritual holiday for some of us. That’s why we’re getting pretty stoked to head over to the Ottawa Comiccon this week, and naturally we don’t want you to miss out on the thrill of it all!
The spectacle will take place at Ottawa’s EY Centre from May 8 to 10, and like every other proud gathering of nerds and pop-culture enthusiasts of all kinds, it will feature vendors’ tables and cosplayers of every persuasion imaginable. And of course, there’s no leaving out the featured guests that some of you might have been waiting a lifetime to be able to behold in the flesh. Allison Mack, known for playing Chloe Sullivan on Smallville, will be in attendance.

Ticket information is available here, and it looks like they might even still need some volunteers. It’s not too late to plan yourself a weekend of superheroic proportions. Renowned for his work on Marvel’s Captain Marvel and DC’s Green Lantern series, Brazilian artist Ivan Reis is in a class all his own. And now, with this exclusive collaboration between Reis and sculptor Mat Brouillard, you can own the Dark Knight himself for display among your other DC collectibles.
This stunning statue is crafted according to the aesthetic of the hugely popular comic-book series Justice League. Manufactured as a limited run of 5,200 to honor the quintessential New 52, this six-inch, black-and-white offering isn’t one to sleep on. Batman is encroached upon a fully functional display stand, with one foot off of the base and one foot on to create a “mid-movement” look. Harness the power of Gotham City’s hero now!
Who needs color, anyways?
The famed Marvel Comics antihero is finally getting the Diamond Toys/Marvel Select treatment. First appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man comic book series in 1974, he’s come to be another recognizable and nostalgia-inducing member of the Marvel empire. With his heated vendetta against the mob after his wife and children were killed via mob violence in New York City, coercion and torture are just two of the dastardly tools he uses to enact justice.
At eight inches tall, he’s just the right size to pose alongside your other Marvel Select collectibles. All the while, his black-and-white tee depicting the skull of death will remain unmistakable beside them. Add this classic character to your collection today!
When it comes to choosing the next addition to your collection, who better to start the new year off with than the island of Themyscira’s reigning deity? Next in the Kotobukiya and DC collaboration that has spawned the release of three DC Comics heavyweights in full-size, ArtFX form is the inimitable Wonder Woman. The badass lady member of DC’s Trinity, Princess Diana has crushed foes and protected universes since her comic-book debut in 1941. What’s stunning about this statue is how regal the Amazon warrior looks in this rendering imagined by Jim Lee.
Wonder Woman is just under 12 inches tall here and is poised in mid-stride, journeying forward with ease and purpose, donning her classic look in the form of a red and gold bodice with an eagle design, a starry blue skirt and red-and-white boots. Accessorized by all of her iconic accoutrements, like her galactic tiara, bracelets and epic Lasso of Truth, the figurative icing on the cake of this figure is her long, flowing cape.
Pose her on the included base with a logo, and remember that she’s also the final piece in an unofficial Trinity series with the Superman for Tomorrow and Batman Black Costume ArtFX statues, all of which were sculpted by the legendary artist Kouei Matsumoto.
The eighth Wonder of the world.
