BIOSHOCK: The New LED-Lit BIG DADDY

As you wander through Rapture, you’ll see a ton of Big Daddies and their Little Sisters and when you do, it’s usually a good idea to protect yourself by checking out what kind of mood the Big Daddy is in. Green light and he’s completely calm, Yellow light and he’s warning you or a Splicer to steer clear and if there’s a Red light, well, he’s probably trying to take you out for crossing the line.

Now you can recreate all the negative and positive emotions of a Big Daddy with this new Bioshock toy fitted with LED lights! If you’ve got a Little Sister toy on-hand, you’ll want to be extra careful when you set this pair up.

BIOSHOCK: Subject Delta Doll

Well, if you’re reading this today, then that means we survived the supposed Rapture, but if you feel you need a palate-cleanser from all the panicking, then maybe it’s time to turn to a Rapture where the world really is falling apart. We’ll help with this brand new Subject Delta doll from NECA.

Based on Eleanor Lamb’s home-made Delta doll seen in the opening of Bioshock 2, it’s a 7-inch plush that shows all the hallmarks of a Little Sister’s strange creativity, incorporating a baseball, a watch, elastic bands and a paperclip into the design. This one makes a great display piece, too–just leave it on the floor and any visiting Splicers will know to tread a little more carefully, lest the real Delta come their way.

COMING SOON: The Electronic Big Daddy Bouncer

I am a massive Bioshock fan and I couldn’t be happier that toys and figures are still being produced even as we struggle through the days until 2012’s BIOSHOCK INFINITE. Coming in July, we’ve got a new and awesome addition to the collection with the DELUXE Electronic Big Daddy!

Standing about 8 inches tall, this Big Daddy is essentially the previous model, but with something decidedly cooler added (whether he visited a Power to the People station we’re not quite sure): working lights go from green to yellow to red depending on the mood of what Ryan called the “lumbering palooka”. Stunningly and lovingly rendered by NECA, you can pre-order now and expect it to arrive this summer!

Bioshock 2: New Content TODAY!

Bioshock 2 fan? Well, then it’s likely that you’ve not only finished it, but are well aware that there’s new content for the game arriving today, March 11th! The great thing about today’s networked consoles is that you no longer buy a game, play it, and see it end; instead, people can compete internationally for high scores and bonuses, learn tips, tricks and cheats from the world-wide web or just download brand new characters, accessories or levels for a gaming experience that lasts and lasts.

Of course, the popularity of Bioshock means that this is a truly big deal in the community, so here’s the info for the uninitiated, delivered straight from Gamespot.

BioShock 2 proved to be a big winner as part of Take-Two’s fiscal first-quarter earnings report earlier this week, shipping 3 million units across the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. With sales figures like that, the publisher should find plenty of fertile soil for BioShock 2’s first expansion. Today, 2K Games said the first add-on, called Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack, will arrive on all three platforms March 11 for $5 (400 Microsoft points).

The Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack is aimed at the game’s multiplayer mode, which was developed by Dark Sector studio Digital Extremes. With the pack, players will be able to attain rank 50 in multiplayer mode, as well as play as Louie McGraff and Oscar Calraca. The Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack is rounded out with 20 new trials, a third upgrade for each weapon, and five new masks.

2K Games noted that it has several more add-on packs scheduled to arrive in the next few months that will expand both the single-player and multiplayer portions of BioShock 2. Included in the packs will be additional narrative, as well as new tools and challenges that are designed to further flesh out the tragic fall of Rapture.

More good news for fans comes in the form of NECA’s awesome Bioshock 2 toy collection, which not only includes 7-inch figures of Big Sister and Subject Delta, but also an awesome deluxe Big Daddy, a 7-inch Big Daddy in doll form and a Hypo Syrings light-up replica. Great additions to any Bioshock fan’s toyshelf.

Shipping this month: BIOSHOCK 2 FIGURES!

A cinematic tale with a dark feel that combines Verne with 1950s kitsch and more than a little steampunk, Bioshock took the world by storm when it was released. And now, with the release of the second game, there comes a new duo of figures: Big Sister 2 and Subject Delta. They join the original trio of Big Sister 1 and Little Sister (sold as a pair) and the deluxe Big Daddy. The figures are honestly great-looking as NECA gives them the usual high-detail treatment and they stand taller than most at 7+ inches. Definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of the game.

Frankly, though, I haven’t played my way through the games and even I have to marvel at the character design (and the cut scenes watched as others play before me) and the incredible settings they’ve created. Whether I look forward to the inevitable film, of course, I’m not sure, but for now I can still enjoy the look of it all.

New BIOSHOCK Figures from NECA

Bioshock’s Big Daddy, Big Sister and Little Sister are the latest figures to join the likes of Agent 47, Kain, Altair and Lara Croft in NECA’S Player’s Select series. Standing around seven inches tall, NECA once again outdoes itself in terms of sculpting and paint-work, bringing to reality some of the most enigmatic and beautifully-designed elements of the massively popular game.

They’re not out just yet, but you can already pre-order these items and they’ll ship out to you in October of this year. They’re a great choice for fans of the immersive world of Bioshock and will no doubt look incredible when displayed.
