Royal Suit Alice by American McGee

From the mind of American McGee comes the star of Alice and its sequel, Alice: Madness Returns. Clad in her Royal Suit, she cuts an eerily beautiful figure.

Sculpted by Gentle Giant, this is a Previews Exclusive, so fans might want to snag it while they can. She stands about 7 inches tall and comes fully articulated with a display base and stylized collector packaging.

HALO: Spirit of Fire – Red Team

Three 5-inch figures make up the Red Team in this awesome new HALO box set. Packed with some serious firepower, Jerome-092, Douglas-042 and Alice-130 look as awesome as you’d expect from the brilliant minds at McFarlane studios. If you’re a fan of the game, you should definitely give this set a shot!

Alice : Madness Returns Figures

Though the game might not have been the financial success we might have hoped, critics responded to its stunning design and artistic elements, the strangeness of the characters and the inventive, dark beauty to be found in every corner of London and its counterpart, Wonderland.

Alice, a Card Guard and the Cheschire Cat can be purchased individually or as a complete set of three. You can also snag Hysteria Alice, an exclusive rendering of her terrifying berserker form, blood red and bone white.

All of these figures can be pre-ordered now and will be shipping out in JUNE!

Alice and the Mad Hatter Figures Arrive!

Alice and the Mad Hatter are the first two figures from Disney and Tim Burton’s re-imagining of Alice in Wonderland. They’re six inch figures and manufactured by Medicom Toys, which essentially means that you can expect extremely high detail and a pretty stunning paint job, too. Known for their talent for likenesses, Medicom seems the perfect studio to bring Tim Burton’s vision from 3-D vision to three more tangible dimensions. Heck, just look at the label right there: ULTRA DETAIL FIGURE. So enjoy. The movie itself was a massive success, though critics didn’t seem to agree with audiences: it may have had something to do with the fact that even the most casual Tim Burton fan would probably think Alice in Wonderland to be the ultimate playground for the director’s imagination, but the end result was almost too polished and CGI-laden. Not to mention the fact that some are beginning to tire of his use (overuse?) of wife Helena Bonham-Carter and best friend Johnny Depp. But again, despite complaints, the movie definitely raked in the bucks and I’ve no doubt that whatever Burton and/or Depp roll out next will be just as big.

And if you’re looking for the film, you can snag that, too, over at!

American McGee’s Alice: The Sequel!

This might be old news to many, but it was only recently that I gave a nostalgic thought back to American McGee’s Alice, a dark and twisted version of Alice in Wonderland, a work that is admittedly twisted all on its own. I was doing some work on when I came upon our last remaining toy from the Alice collection. WIth everything else sold out, we’re down to the massive (and terrifying) Jabberwock figure.

Inspired by this discovery (or re-discovery), I headed down memory lane at the game’s wikipedia page, recalled the days when a movie was still in the works (the project was cancelled) and was surprised to learn that the possibility of a new game has become a reality. Check out this post from a couple months back in American McGee’s blog

Waking up in Shanghai this morning I’m greeted with a flood of emails, facebook messages, and phone calls. The world now knows what we here at Spicy Horse have known for some time: We’re making a sequel to “American McGee’s Alice” with Electronic Arts (EAP to be exact).

Not much can be said about the new project at this time. We are building it here in Shanghai. RJ Berg, who wrote the original and served as Executive Producer on the project, will reprise that role. The game will be delivered on PC, PS3, and 360. More details will come later of course. Until then, you can read the official press release. Or read EA’s official news blurb.

For me and the studio this obviously represents huge news. The original Alice was a good bit of fun – and aspects of the original are still quite compelling. The challenge for us – to build a great game, and a sequel worthy of the original – is real, but not daunting. Over the past few years we’ve assembled a really amazing team. I have full faith in their ability to create something amazing.

For me, this is a dream come true. The project will be fun, the studio can grow (and move – check out my flickr for pics of our new space), and we’ll eventually ship something unique. Lots of potential wrapped up in this news – I know I’ll be doing everything I can to make something great of it.
