The Living Dead Dolls do Freddy Krueger

Jackie Earle Haley recently took over for Robert Englund as the villainous nightmare-hopper Freddy Kruger in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. The reviews are generally rough on the film, but for the most part, critics are pretty kind to the lead, calling it a solid performance that doesn’t try to emulate his predecessor, but also doesn’t distance itself from it to the point of being unrecognisable.

What no one mentions, however, is that the winning formula to revamping Freddy might just be making him ridiculously cute:

That’s the new 10-inch figure from the Living Dead Dolls collection, a rendering of Krueger so sweet it might cause cavities–which might at least keep you awake!

He’s modelled on the 2010 incarnation of Freddy, so the glove is the updated version, but the rest of it (including the removable hat) is perfectly loyal to the original. The doll comes in a window box perfect for collectors, but if you’re so inclined you can take him out and make yourself one of the world’s most unnerving teddy bears.
