When Peter Parker discovered that the new suit he’d brought back with him from the Secret Wars was actually an alien symbiote, he did everything in his power to rid himself of it. In turn, the alien life form discovered Eddie Brock, a reporter from the Daily Globe that has been humiliated by the wallcrawler, and in bonding with him sparked their mutual hatred of Spider-Man into the raging inferno called Venom!
This 1:6 scale Venom mini-bust is a great new sculpt from Gentle Giant, particularly impressive in its tiny details from the veins on his rippling muscles to the twist of his tongue around his pointed teeth. Fans of the character should definitely add this to their must-have list.

THE RHINO is the latest addition to the Marvel Select collection and it’s an awesome one. At 8 inches tall, it’s just oversized enough to go with any of the 6-inch Spidey’s you’ve got hanging around. Boasting some awesome sculpting by the folks at Gentle Giant, the leather-skinned juggernaut also features over 16 points of articulation– not bad for a guy built like a tank.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN figures are on their way! Pre-Order now and June will bring the first wave of extremely awesome 3.75 inch figures. Check them out:
Mega-Cannon Spider-Man, Symbiote Strike Spider-Man, Capture Trap Spider-Man, Hydro Attack Spider-Man, Grappling Hook Spider-Man, Symbiote Snap Venom, Glider Attack Green Goblin and Power Arms Dr. Octopus make up the first series of figures and grossly overstate the movie we’re all anticipating this summer– I don’t know how many times Spider-Man will use a mega cannon, but I have the feeling it will be less than once. Still, the figures are pretty rad and you can grab ‘em individually or as a complete set.

Andrew Garfield looks an excellent fit for Peter Parker, while Emma Stone is always popular and Rhys Ifans seems to be having fun as Curt Connors/ The Lizard. Director Marc Webb looks to have woven a decent story, even if the whole thing does look a little CGI-happy. There are a couple of exciting action beats in here, as well as some nice exchanges between the leads. Garfield also gets to crack wise a little, giving us hope that this incarnation might well have fun on the agenda.
The Amazing Spider-Man is out on July 3rd, and also stars Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary, C Thomas Howell, Irrfan Khan and Chris Zylka.

When they first showed off the new Lizard from the upcoming AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, it was surely only a matter of time before the collectors wanted to snag a figure, statue or any other collectible featuring Spidey’s reptilian nemesis. Fortunately, the wait is over.
Capturing the Rhys Ifans character perfectly, this Diamond Select figure is designed and sculpted by Gentle Giant, whose work has never been anything but awesome. Standing about 7 inches tall, he boasts an impressive 16 points of articulation, meaning that when you set up your inevitable NYC Spider-Man diorama, the options are pretty much endless. Or, if you’re an in-the-box collector, you’ll be pleased with the over-sized packaging.

We won’t lie: there wasn’t a lot to love about Spider-Man 3. It was a bit of a mess and didn’t really line-up with everything we’d been waiting for. What it DID have, though, was James Franco saying “So Good”, a pretty cool bro team-up and this sweet suit:

SPIDER-WOMAN is the latest addition to the Marvel Select collection of 7- and 8-inch figures. Standing on a brilliantly-rendered base featuring three H.Y.D.R.A. agents, she’s easily one of the most impressive figures to come out of this still-growing collection. I enjoyed the Toby Maguire Spider-Man series of films but I think we can all agree that they had some pretty terrible moments, particularly the third film. When I heard they were going to make a fourth with the same actors I wanted to tell them to give it a rest but Hollywood and character rights being what they are, they decided to move ahead, only to change direction and reboot the series instead. The trailer looks incredibly dark. Not Batman Begins dark, more like they needed a bigger budget for lighting dark. Hopefully it won’t be so shady in theaters.
