Ame-Comi’s RAVEN : Angel or Demon?

August 27, 2011

TWO new Ame-Comi figures of the TEEN TITANS’ RAVEN are headed your way and can be pre-ordered now!

Raven has always been trapped between Good and Evil and both sides are represented in the new released from Ame-Comi. In the first, she is an Angel’s daugher bathed in white and blue and in the second, her darker nature showcases her in blood red and endless black. Both are stunning renderings of the character and if you’re a fan, you’ll definitely want to pre-order one or both of them to get your hands on the 9-inch statues when they ship out in April. Take a look!

DC Direct’s NEW Bishoujo Statue: Wonder Woman

May 20, 2011

Kotobukiya presents a brand new 9-inch Wonder Woman Bishoujo statue and its’ absolutely gorgeous. Showing Wonder Woman in her element, standing tall and proud with her armor and weapons, it’s a rare example of the character in her classic garb and looking powerful rather than just straight-up Lolita, which is common in some of the anime-inspired lines.

Now in-stock, you can snag this brilliantly-rendered statue from Kotobukiya and hopefully get over the disappointment of losing the NBC Wonder Woman pilot. Chin up, WW fans, it didn’t look good anyway!

Ame-Comi Batgirl Recolour!

December 1, 2010

On the heels of the Catwoman variant post, here’s a look at another pre-order, coming in June 2011…

A new black and yellow Batgirl variant is now available, featuring the Barbara Gordon version of Batgirl (gotta love the original) in her classic colours! She cuts a striking figure as she stands proudly above Gotham, ready to take on the world and all the madness and mayhem its villains offer!

The Ame-Comi collection has managed to create some really cool alternative costumes for the women of the DC Universe (plus Batman, the lone male in the line) and it’s a good chance for artists both well- and lesser-known to experiment with something new and get their creations out there in the world. If you’re a fan, be sure to check out the complete Ame-Comi collection to snag your favourite characters!

NEW Ame-Comi Catwoman Recolour

November 30, 2010

A new variant of the original Ame-Comi Catwoman figure is now available in our Ame-Comi section, this new version of Catwoman sports a black and ice blue costume, looking just as sleek, sophisticated and sexy as ever but with a look that hasn’t been seen on the feline fatale–though it is based on the colours she sported in the 1960s.

Made out of PVC, she stands about 8.5-inches tall and is packaged in a display-friendly window box!

The Play Arts BLEACH Kai Series Figures

November 27, 2010

The latest BLEACH figures from Play Arts are another example of the company’s incredible design and sculpting skill. They’re the latest additions to the collection based on the hugely-popular anime whose reach has spread in North America and Europe from being a cult hit among die-hard fans to something much more well-known and almost mainstream–well, by anime standards anyway.

The three characters they’ve added to the collection this time around are Ichigo, Rukia and Hitsugaya, but beyond just being nice figures, these are deluxe even by the standards of Play Arts: they’re part of the Kai Series. Being a Kai figure means that it features extra detail, extra accessories and extra switch-out parts.

They join Kisuke and a very awesome Bleach plush in the section you can visit by clicking below! Check it out:

NEW Ame-Comi Figures: MERA and RAVEN

October 5, 2010

Sweeping shadows in black and midnight blue, post-punk pretty Raven keeps her emotions in check so the dark magic of her heritage doesn’t devour her whole. Caped in swirling dark waves, this gloomcookie’s cloak of night locks in screaming lost souls, bats and beasts and terrors with teeth – including monster dad, the demon Trigon.

RAVEN and MERA are the latest pre-orderable figures to join DC’s AME-COMI PVC Statue Collection and they look great doing it. Both figures are about 10 inches tall and will be shipping in May 2011, but can be pre-ordered now to guarantee that you get yours!

The Queen of Atlantis shimmers in scales of sea green and gold. Reflecting on her underwater life, the Star of the Seven Seas hefts her trident and rides the tides. Taming the tempest, Mera dives into the depths for her next adventure.

And by the way… If you’re interested in more of DC’s women, maybe you’d like to check out the blog DC Women Kicking Ass! and their ongoing DC Women competition, October Madness, where you can vote on who will win in a given match-up!
