Oliver Queen got a serious overhaul from the man we new before the launch of the New 52 and he’s looking awesome minus the van dyke.
A Justice League figure, Ollie stands about 6 inches tall and features a bunch of articulation, awesome detail and, of course, a bow and arrow to get him ready for whatever’s on its way.
The 20th series of DC Universe figures is an interesting one because, this time, the Build-a-figure might just be the real star. If you’re usually a picker, you might actually want to consider snagging the whole set, because building a sweet, over-sized NEKRON is pretty cool. As for the carriers of the Nekron-pieces, you can grab Green Arrow, White Lantern Flash, Reverse Flash, Hawk, Dove (Dawn Granger), Red Arrow and Sinestro! They’re all about 6 inches tall and look pretty awesome–especially the new Green Arrow, whose Flashpoint look is pretty great.
It’s here! The 19th series of DC Universe figures has arrived. You can find Sandman, The Atom, Hawkman, Lord Naga, Magog and Stargirl in this new wave and they’re all looking great at 6-inch figures. As ever, collect them all and you can use the included parts to make the build-a-figure, which is S.T.R.I.P.E. this time around!
And you can already pre-order the next series, which includes Green Arrow, White Lantern Flash, Reverse Flash, Hawk, Dove (Dawn Granger), Red Arrow and Sinestro, plus the build-a-figure NEKRON for fans of the Lanterns. It ships in January, but you can snag it now.
Hawkgirl, Green Arrow, Deadman and Aquaman have finally arrived as the members of DC Direct’s new line. Based on the recent and hugely popular company-wide event, BRIGHTEST DAY, these 6-inch figures faithfully capture the best and most dynamic looks of these characters as they appeared on the pages of the connected comics.
You can grab these guys individually or as a set and they work great as both functional and display figures. Already planned are two more series to follow this one, where you’ll be able to snag Firestorm, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter and Mera (Series 2) and then Aqualad, Dove, Hawk and Jade (Series 3). Of course, if the wait is killing you, you can pre-order and make sure you get ‘em sent your way the second they’re shipped out!
Fans of YOUNG JUSTICE will be pleased to see two waves of figures headed their way: 4- and 6-inch. The first wave of 6-inch figures only includes two characters–Robin and Artemis–but both look great and will make a pretty cool addition to your toy-shelf.
The rest are seen above and you can grab them in 2-packs or in a complete set of eight figures. The teams are as follows:
Batman / Robin
Aquaman / Aqualad
Flash / Kid Flash
Ras Al Ghul / Cheshire
If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll definitely want to snag these guys. And if you haven’t seen it yet, then…well, what are you waiting for?
If you’re a fan of Batman: The Brave and the Bold and have been looking forward to the upcoming video game, the new trailer should make the wait just a little bit easier…or is it harder? You be the judge!
And fans might also be interested in checking out our collection of extremely awesome Batman: The Brave and the Bold figures from Mattel! They’re a 5- to 6-inch collection of toys and vehicles, featuring a variety of Batman toys (Bladewhip, Bataraxe, Crusher Cuffs), Solomon Grundy, Plastic Man and many more! They really capture the dynamic look of the series, which is itself a unique and more light-hearted take on the dark knight, sometwhere between Superfriends and the Batman animated series that made the 90′s so much cooler.

“BRIGHTEST DAY is about second chances. It’s looking at twelve characters that have been resurrected and examining whether it’s a miracle or a curse. Some second chances work out… some don’t. BRIGHTEST DAY is the next step in repositioning a lot of characters in the DC Universe and pushing them to the next level.” Geoff Johns
As Blackest Night comes to a close, are you ready for the dawn of DC’s new event, BRIGHTEST DAY? With a great collection of writers and artists collaborating on the comics and storylines, the next few months should be a pretty great time for fans of the heroes and villains they can expect to see along the way.
And, of course, the fact that something new is beginning also means that DC Direct is rolling out the new figures and I am very pleased to say that they look absolutely great. Standing 6 inches tall, brilliantly sculpted based on the new looks of the characters and the new art style of the event, they’re only the first series of what will surely be a very nice-looking collection. Check out the first four below, snaggable either individually or as a set! They can be pre-ordered now and ship in March 2011!
The hugely successful Marvel Legends line was likely the final kick in the pants DC needed to take a run at the high-quality action figure market and unleash the DC Universe Collection. And now, the DC figures are gaining in popularity and rival the folks at Marvel in terms of detail, painting and the overall look of the figures, sometimes surpassing them with smooth sculpts and really solid joint work.
The latest we’ve heard of the figures brings us to Series 9, available for pre-order over at our online store. The figures in the set are: Flash, Vigilante, Comic book and Super Powers Mantis, Classic and Modern Wildcat, Black Canary, Black Adam, Green Arrow, Guardian and Deadshot. And when you collect ‘em all (except for the alternates who come with part doubles and Flash and Vigilante, who do not come with parts), you can build the Metal Men supervillain Chemo, a plastic abomination. Those are the new figures from DC Direct’s DC Universe collection and they arrive tomorrow. Past series have brought us Red Tornado and Etrigan, Harley Quinn and Nightwing, The Riddler and Big Barda and dozens more. They get here tomorrow, but you can already pre-order now, before they go live on the website. And you can also check out and pre-order the ninth series. The ship date has yet to be announced, but the collection includes Black Canary, Green Arrow, Black Adam and seven others! Take a look at the ninth series by clicking here!
