It took Marvel studios a few tries to get The Hulk right, but when he did, it was truly Incredible. Mark Ruffalo’s turn as Dr. Banner outstripped Bana and Norton to be the ultimate depiction of the hero, a subdued, bookish man whose awkward manner belies his inner beast. Watching him unite with the other Avengers was a fangirl or fanboy’s dream come true, a testament to the awesome power of superhero fiction.
