Cyborg and Harley Quinn

March 1, 2013

Based on their looks in INJUSTICE : GODS AMONG US, this pair of figures is something of an unlikely duo, but no one’s complaining when both of them are so undeniably awesome.

What if our greatest heroes became our greatest threat? Injustice: Gods Among Us introduces a bold new franchise to the fighting game genre from NetherRealm Studios, creators of the definitive fighting game Mortal Kombat. Featuring DC Comics icons such as Batman, Cyborg, The Flash, Green Arrow, The Joker, Green Lantern, Superman and Wonder Woman, the latest title from the award-winning studio presents an original story. Heroes and villains will engage in epic battles on a massive scale in a world where the line between good and evil has been blurred.

Each figure is about 6 inches tall and features 20 points of articulation!

DC UNIVERSE: FLASHPOINT

August 24, 2011

If you’ve been following the massive DC Universe event leading up to the reboot, then you’ll definitely want to see what the new FLASHPOINT figures have in store. Check these out!

BATMAN (Thomas Wayne), WONDER WOMAN, CYBORG and THE FLASH make up the first series of Flashpoint 6-inch figures and they all look fantastic. Here’s the official write-up.

First, the DC Universe was plunged into darkness with BLACKEST NIGHT. Then BRIGHTEST DAY burned away the night.

And now?

EVERYTHING CHANGES IN A FLASH!

Comics’ next big event is not a dream, or an imaginary story, or an elseworld.

But for Barry Allen?

It could be his worst nightmare.

The world as Barry Allen knows it has changed. With humankind on the abyss’ edge of a cataclysmic war, Earth’s Greatest Heroes are nowhere to be found. It’s up to Cyborg, America’s last hope, to gather forces new and old from across the Universe.

If The Flash can’t find the villain who altered the timeline, the world may have no future at all.

Written by Geoff Johns with art by Andy Kubert, FLASHPOINT changes the DC Universe as we know it!

All four Flashpoint figures feature multiple points of articulation and include a display base. Character-appropriate accessories are also included.

DC UNIVERSE ONLINE: New Figure Pre-Orders!

August 5, 2011

Batman, Catwoman, Cyborg and Wonder Woman (who has yet to be revealed) are the first action figures being released from DC Direct’s new line based on DC Universe Online. These are fully-articulated and at about a 6- or 7-inch scale, differing from the previously released DCU Online Statues.

Each one looks absolutely great and comes with character-appropriate weapons and accessories, plus bases that make them easy (and awesome) to display. They are based on the art of Jim Lee.

Coming in July: FLASHPOINT

June 4, 2011

FLASHPOINT is the next big event on DC’s roster and will be the lead-in to the upcoming reboot/renumbering. The first wave of figures already shows at least some of the radical changes we’re going to see in the alternate universe of the event. Really, you just need to take one look at the gorgeous, revamped Wonder Woman and you can’t help but have your interest at least slightly piqued.

She’s joined by the Flash, Cyborg and Batman in DC Direct’s first Flashpoint series and you can find them all individually or as a set. They’re now pre-orderable and will be shipping in July! With luck, they’ll be joined by more figures in the not-too-distant future!

DC DIRECT PRESENTS: FLASHPOINT SERIES 1

March 31, 2011

DC Direct’s FLASHPOINT 6-inch figures are now available for pre-order, both as individual figures or as a set of four. The first characters you’ll find in what will surely become a growing line are Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and, of course, The Flash himself.

From the Wik: iWritten by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kubert, the series details an altered DC Universe in which only Barry Allen seems to be aware of very significant differences between the regular timeline and the altered one he awakes in, including Cyborg’s place as the quintessential hero, Superman’s apparent detention by the government, and Batman “spending his days running Wayne Casinos.

If you’re a big DC fan and love these kinds of crossover/Elseworlds-style events, then you’ll probably love the slick new design of the characters. Snag ‘em now and we’ll have information on the next series as soon as they’re announced!
