Sideshow’s new Scarlet Witch comiquette, based on the art of Mark Brooks is the latest addition to our Marvel Sideshow collection. Coming in at a whopping 17.5 inches, the figure is a beautiful rendering of yet another of Marvel’s gorgeous super-powered women. Scarlet Witch looks incredible wearing her classic red (well, scarlet) costume over dangerous curves cast in high-quality polystone. A playful element is added as she toys with a remote, controlling a miniature remote-controlled Vision, her android beloved.

You might remember our original post on Hasbro’s Giant-Size Galactus, the 19-inch Masterworks series figure joined by Silver Surfer and capturing the character in a scale that suits his sheer magnitude. Well, if you liked that one but weren’t entirely sure of the bright purple, then you might prefer this darker Galactus variant, which lends a sense of realism or perhaps modern comic grittiness with a more muted palette.

RED HULK from FALL OF THE HULKS is the latest statue from the Japanese statue wizards at Kotobukiya! It stands a full 13-inches tall and looks as imposing as you might expect from one of the best toy houses out there.

The Hulk has been a staple superhero of the Marvel Comics for years, battling foes across the universe in epic storylines. The unstoppable Red Hulk rampages across a blasted volcanic landscape, preparing a lethal blow for his foes. SuperheroHype has an announcement that should thrill Marvel fans worldwide! The upcoming Avengers film, featuring a cavalcade of stars as some of Marvel’s biggest name, has officially been given a start date for filming. Here’s the story:

SuperHeroHype has learned that Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios are planning to start shooting The Avengers in February, 2011 for a May 4, 2012 release.

Directed by Joss Whedon, the anticipated film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson.

The February start is just a few months after Sony’s untitled Spider-Man reboot gets underway this December. Both films are expected to shoot in Los Angeles.

No, it’s not anything really noticeable. In fact, the figure is probably one of the best Marvel Select has ever come up with. It’s got great detail, it’s big enough to work perfectly relative to the other figures in Marvel Select’s collection and it captures the character brilliantly. Unfortunately, part of Abomination’s awesomeness as a character and a figure is his massive size and weight and it seems that the sheer density of this figure and the heaviness that has caused has made it pretty tough for Marvel to ship it out. In fact, you might notice that they had to go back and reinforce every single one so that the villain’s girth didn’t cause it to tear right through its packaging!

Fortunately for fans who do like to take their figures out of the packaging, this extra feature just speaks for how great and how substantial the piece is. And for collectors, well, it’ll add a unique little twist to this figure when it’s next to the whole group! Of course, the ones for whom this might just be unfortunate is Marvel themselves, who might be regretting the extra weight when they factor in the extra costs! At least you get to enjoy it right along with the rest of ‘em!
