HALO – Gold Spartan

September 24, 2012

A decade ago, Bungie Software and Microsoft teamed up to bring gamers the next generation of first-person shooters – Halo: Combat Evolved for the nascent Xbox system. Humanity’s super soldier, Master Chief, battled the genocidal alien Covenant on a remarkable artifact in the depths of space, and a video game legend was born. Square Enix brings the popular character Master Chief to life as part of their new Halo Play Arts ~Kai~ action figure line.

A PREVIEWS Exclusive and a Square Enix import, this GOLD, 9-inch Spartan figure is one that’s sure to please HALO fans. The sculpt is taken directly from the game’s CGI files, so you can expect to see some pretty amazing details on this thing– not that you’d expect anything else from the Kai series.

HALO: 10th Anniversary Collection

October 6, 2011

It’s hard to even think about it, but it’s been a whopping 10 years since the Halo franchise was launched.

To celebrate an entire decade of Halo awesomeness, McFarlane is releasing a line of awesome toys based on that first game.

The figures come with awesome accessories and additions, like Master Chief’s impressive weapon collection or Cortana’s light-up base. At 5 inches tall, they also feature a unique, angular design that defintitely brings to mind the look they sported in that original game. For fans new and old, this is a line you won’t want to miss.

You can also snag the Fearless Leaders 3-Pack featuring Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck, Sergeant John Forge and Noble Team’s Carter.

Coming Soon: HALO REACH FIGURES

December 21, 2010

HALO REACH gave gamers a brand new chapter in the Halo mythology, allowing them to explore the days before Master Chief and see the world of the game as it once was. The story and the characters spoke to the heart of the player as well as entertaining them, intricate and inspiring on many levels.

It’s therefore no surprise that the above figures are a cut above the rest, getting more than just the usual treatment and joining the Play Arts collection under the Kai series banner. The Kai series, if you are unfamiliar, is “an improved version of [the] popular Play Arts action figures, with a greater attention to detail, more points of articulation, and additional parts for greater customization.”

Shipping in January, you’ll find Noble Six, Jun-A266 and Emile as the first wave of Kai figures and they’re available for pre-order now, as individual items or in a pack of all three. They join the complete Halo Reach Collection over at CmdStore.com!

Coming in September… Halo Minimates and REACH

August 30, 2010

This September, we tart shipping out a series 1 box set of Diamond Select’s Halo Mini-Mates figures! A group of four 2.5-inch figures (with 14 points of articulation!!) based on the hugely popular video game, the Mini-Mates feature video game-accurate armour and accessories while still being anthing BUT game-accurate in terms of form! Master Chief, a UNSC Marine, a Spartan in White Scout Armour, and an Elite in cobalt Assault Armour make up this first series, but given the “collectibility” of something like this, I’m pretty sure you can expect this PX Exclusive to be the beginning of something big–and small.

We’ve also got some brand new stuff coming in from Halo Reach! These items start shipping in September, but you can already take a look at what’ll be out there with individual action figures, 2-packs and vehicles! Click the pic below to check ‘em out!

And if you’re still salivating over REACH, we’re pleased to see thatKotaku.com has a look at the latest live-action game trailer, but not a lot of good to say about it:

The Halo universe is famous for explosions and the colour purple. But pregnant British women? Never seen one of them in a Halo game before.

This is yet another live-action trailer for Halo: Reach, showing the lives of some of the citizens of Reach the day before the Covenant invasion.

They’re OK, but Microsoft, the more of these you put out, the worse they’re getting, and the less impact they’re having. The pointiest tip of the Halo fanbase may get off on seeing bickering civilians, but the majority of customers are in this for the explosions.

Watch it here!

And there’s still more good news for gamers in the form of an official release date for the upcoming Halo Reach. Here’s the word from PC Magazine:

“Halo: Reach” for the Xbox 360 will be released on September 14 worldwide, except for users in Japan, who will have to wait one more day for a September 15 release, Microsoft said Monday.

The news comes after a successful two-week beta testing period that saw 2.7 million “Halo” fans sign up to play. Players logged more than 16 million hours of online gameplay, which equals 1,826 years, and played more than 13 million online games.

The “Halo: Reach” beta, whick kicked off on May 3, was open to Xbox Live Gold account members who had the “Halo 3: ODST” campaign disc, and 1.2 G-bytes of free hard drive space.

Data and user feedback collected from the beta will be used by Microsoft and game developer Bungie to refine the game before its September release, Microsoft said.

“‘Halo: Reach’ is the culmination of a decade of ‘Halo,’ a franchise that has become a global entertainment and pop-culture touchstone,” Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios, said in a statement. “Just as ‘Halo: Combat Evolved’ catalyzed the success of the original Xbox to define a decade of entertainment, ‘Halo: Reach’ will push the boundaries for what’s possible in video games and help make 2010 the biggest year in Xbox history.”

Bob McKenzie, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop, said pre-orders for the game “have been off the charts.”
The standard edition of “Halo: Reach” will retail for $59.99, while limited and legendary editions will sell for $79.99 and $149.99, respectively. The legendary version includes a 10-inch, hand-painted statue of the Noble Team, the Spartan soldiers featured in the game.

North American fans who purchase the game in-store on launch day will receive a token that unlocks an exclusive in-game Spartan Recon helmet. Those outside North America can make a pre-order reservation at participating stores.

Don’t forget to pre-order your Halo Reach Xbox Video Game from Amazon…..
