Maybe you’ve heard of Zhu Zhu pets toy hamsters, some say the hottest toy cultural phenomenon to hit parents crazed at finding the best-selling toy critters since fads like the Cabbage Patch Kids left people tearing over toys in stores in the ’80s.
Formerly known as Go Go Pets, the Zhu Zhu Pets are toy hamsters that scurry around on wheels and don’t make a mess or stink up houses like the real thing.
And no biting, either, which is perhaps the appeal behind the Zhu Zhu Pets (pronounced Zoo Zoo Pets) that are sending parents across the nation online — scurrying themselves to stock up on the animals and all their accessories before the Christmas 2009 craze to get them ensues.
Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters are interactive toy pets, each with their own set of over 40 sound effects, squeaks, chirps, and more. Used in their playsets, they recognize what room they’re in and play appropriate sound effects. They make cooking sounds in the kitchen, brush their teeth, shower, and toilet flushing sounds in the bathroom, and sleep sounds in their bedroom.

You can get them at $8 from Amazon.com if you get them when they are in stock by Amazon.com and not third party sellers which are very expensive. An $8 Zhu Zhu Pet Hamster from Amazon in-stock, sells for $50 or higher from some of the Amazon 3rd party sellers.
Try this tool which lets you monitor the moment it becomes available online on Amazon.com’s stock. It works much better than the email notification programs that email you once an item is in stock – by the time you get the email and check on Amazon, the item is sold out again. With this tool, you monitor an item on Amazon in real-time, and as soon as Amazon restocks the item, you get an alarm. Then you jump in and scoop up the item (at Amazon’s retail price) before they sell out again. Kind of like jumping to the front of the line. It has worked really well for me.
Check it out at http://www.watchmyitems.com
See the tutorials at the web site to learn how it works. Takes about 5 minutes to figure it out, very easy. You’ll need to know the Amazon ID number (ASIN) which you can always find on a product page under the “Product Details” section.
Here’s the tool with a monitor watch setup for “Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster Mr. Squiggles – Light Brown” http://www.watchmyitems.com?item=B002BHDXY0
Give it a try, I can buy my kids a few Zhu Zhu Pets at the retail price of $8 instead of just 1 for $50+! Just refresh the page if the item is not coming up the first time around.
