Fans of Marvel’s X-men had mixed feelings about X-Men: The Last Stand, the last entry in the franchise, and while it made a lot of cash at the box-office, reviews were less-than-stellar. The characters were said to be shallow versions of their former comic-and-movie selves, the plot was aimless and forced and the action more unbelievable. Personally, I was just wondering why no one seemed to care when Cyclops was missing for, like, ever.
But there’s a new hope with the upcoming Wolverine movie, which brings Hugh Jackman back as the eponymous hero and features the long-awaited appearance of characters like Gambit (Taylor Kitsch) and Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds). Liev Shreiber takes over the role of Sabretooth, last seen in the first film in 2000 (wherein he was portrayed by wrestler Tyler Mane) and the film deals with Wolverine’s hunt for revenge following his girlfriend’s death. So far, it looks promising, but only so much can be gathered from a trailer; fans are surely keeping their fingers crossed for some fair play for Logan and the other mutants.
As is the way of things, Hasbro has released a lot of merchandise for the film and we’ve gotten a shipment of X-Men Origins: Wolverine figures you can check out over at CMDStore.com.
